We are hoping to recruit a member of staff to join our Facilities Team at Weymouth Community Hospital.
This multiskilled role is working in a friendly hospital environment, mainly within the cleaning team, helping with cleaning duties in the main hospital, in our outpatient clinical areas to include duties such as emptying bins, cleaning toilets and occasional additional duties supporting the Portering Team.
We have two 15 hours vacancies, each working Monday - Friday inclusive 5pm-8pm each day.
There may be a need to change this pattern to work flexibly within the team to cover the needs of the service. Additional hours are usually available to cover annual leave and sickness absence.
Any additional hours where they are worked at weekend attracts additional enhanced levels of pay and you will receive a generous annual leave allowance.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
Main duties of the job
Catering – all onsite training will be provided, experience preferred but not essential. Supporting our catering service within the main hospital kitchen, the role will be a planned pattern of shifts over a two week period, working alternate weekends
Cleaning – duties across the site, working to NHS cleaning standards, as the cleaning rota requires. – weekly duties supporting the delivery of items throughout the site,
Porter duties, collecting samples, receiving deliveries and supporting in unloading deliveries such as stores and catering deliveries.
A full UK driving license is essential for this role as you will be required to use the hospital vehicle to deliver meals to a nearby site.
For all duties, full training, support and uniform will be provided, shadowing current experienced staff to enable the successful candidate to become confident in their role

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
