Job overview
A exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 full time, Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to work within the Dermatology departments within UHD. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team.
The purpose of the role is to assist the clinical team in the service and
delivery of the Dermatology Service of the local population. This will also include supporting the role out of a new pilot study about using photography to diagnose skin cancer.
To work as an effective member of the team under the supervision and
direction of a registered health care professional.
To undertake all duties listed however these duties will vary from
speciality to speciality in some cases this could include working with
children and young people right through to older people. No duties should
be undertaken unless appropriate training or induction has taken place in
accordance with trust policies.
This role requires applicants to have a completed Care Certificate
Base Location: Poole or Christchurch Hospital

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- To be educated to GCSE (or equivalent) standard with a pass in English & Mathematics.
- Working towards NVQ3 in Health & Social Care.
- Have a completed Care Certificate
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of working in a health care setting within a Hospital environment
Desirable criteria
- Experience within Dermatology
Technical Skills Competencies
Essential criteria
- Basic IT skills
- Excellent communication skills, written, by telephone or face to face using tact, negotiation skills or persuasion where there may be barriers or the need for a better understanding.
Desirable criteria
- Previous B3 experience
- Theatre skills
- Wound Management Skills
- Phototherapy Experience
