Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced data warehouse developer to join our digital team that has set out an ambitious digital strategy over the next five years to deliver the very best information and digital solutions with patient care at its core.  You will be self-motivated and be able to drive forward the data warehousing function to extract, transform and load existing and new datasets to enhance the provision of business intelligence in the Trust.  You will need to build close working relationships with senior clinicians, operational colleagues and support staff across the Trust, so we are looking for someone that is very personable and confident with a strong background working with clients to understand their business needs, providing actionable insights and information solutions. The successful candidate must be a good team player, be able to manage their own workload and work to tight deadlines successfully.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have a very high level of technical expertise and be expected to have the skill to routinely analyse and solve highly complex technical problems with only an infrequent need to call upon senior staff for advice.

The main aspect of the role is to develop robust Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and to undertake any associated administrative tasks in accordance with advice and guidance provided by senior staff and customers. The post holder must ensure that BI solutions integrate and perform to the requirements and satisfaction of senior staff, users and clinical and technical design standards.

The post holder shall also assess and instruct junior colleagues, analysing their strengths and weaknesses and working with them to develop their skills and technical expertise.
