Therapy Services are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapists to join our newly introduced Band 6 rotational Occupational Therapy scheme. This is a unique opportunity, and we are one of the few organisations in Cheshire and Merseyside to offer a rotational OT post at a specialist level. This will be an ideal role for experienced Band 5s or existing Band 6 OTs who are looking to explore different specialties in a band 6 capacity. The Trust is unique in being able to offer an excellent mix of both inpatient and community rotations. The successful candidate will join our very supportive therapy teams and rotate every 6 months across a wide range of areas including: § Acute Medical and Elderly including our award-winning Dementia Unit § Intermediate Care and Frailty Service § Respiratory (including critical care and surgery) § Trauma & Orthopaedics (including trauma and elective) |

Within this rotational role you will be expected to use your specialist skills in the assessment and treatment of your own caseload of patients. You will work within multi-disciplinary teams and provide assessment and treatment advice both in a ward environment/outpatient setting or in other areas such as patients’ homes. General duties of this role include providing clinical supervision for less experienced Band 5 staff, students, and non-qualified staff. Some of our teams offer a weekend working rota which you will be expected to contribute to in-line with delivering seven-day services. |

The post holder utilises specialist skills in the assessment and treatment of own caseload of clients/patients, developing specialised programmes of care individually and/or in groups in a variety of settings. They work within the multi-disciplinary team and provide assessment and treatment advice both in a ward environment and in other areas such as patients’ homes.
As a specialist therapist, they are responsible for the clinical supervision of students, therapy support staff and junior therapists and will be supported by senior members of the team. They participate in service improvement projects, audits, in-service training and work collaboratively with colleagues.
This post holder will take part in a rotational programme with aim to develop a variety of knowledge and skills. There will be a requirement to work across a 7-day service (dependent on the service/rotation).

- Certificated attendance at external and internal courses relevant to area of work.
