Job overview

The Designed to Smile team are seeking an enthusiastic support worker to engage with nurseries and schools across Hywel Dda with the Welsh Government funded oral health programme. The post is based in the Phil Bennett Community Resource Centre, Felinfoel, Llanelli but as part of the role you will be required to travel across the Carmarthenshire locality and also to other various Health Board sites if service needs require.

 

Main duties of the job

Quality Assurance Visits of the toothbrushing programme in schools and nurseries, ensuring compliance with the National How To Guide .

Provision of resources to settings, and administrative tasks to include collection and delivery of consent forms and maintaining files and class lists.

Home Packs are delivered twice a year, and stock rotation in main stores is also a requirement of the role.

Day to day maintenance of the Designed to Smile programme to include support of setting staff and provision of resources to enable them to facilitate toothbrushing in schools.

Collection and delivery and screening of consent forms and communication with the settings around eligibility to participate in the programme.

Potential to support the fluoride varnish element of the programme, supporting administrative tasks to the dental care professional.

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
