If you are interested in a career as a Dental Nurse, we can offer you a fixed term contract for a period of 24 months dependant on your educational requirements. The role will consist of job specific training (both in the workplace and off the job). Do you possess excellent communication skills? Are you able to be sympathetic, calm and discreet? You’ll need to be dexterous too, as you learn to mix materials and handle small instruments in a patient’s mouth.
Entry requirements are a minimum of 3 GCSE passes; Grade A-C in English Language and Science (Biology) and grade A-C in Maths.
Experience of working as a Dental Nurse is not essential, but experience of working in a care setting will support your application.

Main duties of the job
A dental nurse supports the dentist in a wide range of patient treatments. Mixing fillings, processing radiographs and generally keeping the dental surgery running efficiently are just a few of the wide range of tasks you will learn to undertake.
Full time training and assessment will be provided both in the classroom and clinical environment leading to the National Diploma Examination in Dental Nursing.
- Nursing Care (under supervision)
- Receiving and preparing patients for dental treatment under the direction of a qualified dental nurse.
- Assisting dental staff in the full range of dental treatments and procedures.
- Receiving and acting upon instructions from the dental staff regarding the treatment of patients and ensuring that any relevant information about the patient, including any changes in the patient’s medical/social history are reported to the dentist.
