An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Administration Apprentice  to join the Oncology & Haematology Departments at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting time to join our team.  The purpose of the role is provide administrative support and assistance to the Oncology & Haematology teams.

This will include supporting the secretarial teams with admin duties to ensure clinics run smoothly as possible and keeping patients up to date during their time with us.

Apprenticeship Programme details:

  • Apprenticeship standard - Business Administration, Level 3.
  • Training provider will be Dudley College.
  • The programme will be on a fixed term contract for 18 months.
  • Salary will be paid at National Apprentice wage, £6.40 per hour with a yearly salary of £12,514.32  for the first 12 months. For the final 6 months, this will change to minimum wage for age.

Eligibility

Candidates must have:

  • Maths and English - GCSE grade D or above, grade 3 to 9, or equivalent in Functional Skills at level 1.

Essential criteria
  • Good level of written and oral communication skills

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Maths & English at GCSE grade D or above/ 3 – 9, or the equivalent Functional Skills at Level 1
  • Willing to be enrolled and enthusiastically undertake an apprenticeship appropriate to the job role

Knowledge and Training

Essential criteria
  • Good working knowledge of using windows-based packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, email, power-point, and the internet.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of the NHS environment

Experience

Desirable criteria
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in administration
