*Exciting opportunity* are recruiting to the position of Head of Service for Community Mental Health Transformation and the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Service.
The Community Mental Health Transformation Programme is grounded in a population health approach to serious mental illness, delivered with partners across Primary Care and Secondary Care, supporting more people close to home, reducing the stigma and fragmentation in existing services.
Through the transformation programme new Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams (NMHTs) are in place and being developed, bringing together a range of mental health professionals.
The Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Service reaches across primary (NHMTs) and secondary care (CMHTs). The service will remove the need for multiple referrals and transition points, allowing for a multi-agency approach ensuring service users can access the right help at the right time.
The role will oversee the move from Programme Status towards business as usual The role will lead the embedding of the of the significant deliverables of the Long Term Plan through the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Service .
The post holder will lead the senior leadership teams across community areas in implementing the significant changes required to improve outcomes for out diverse population, whilst actively seeking to reduce health inequalities.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will strategically lead the Community Mental Health Transformation Programme, working to move outcomes toward business as usual and develop the governance structure to enable continuous improvement.
The role will oversee the implementation of change, service development and improvement across the CMHT pathway (Part of Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Service) . The post holder will work collaboratively with partners, commissioning colleagues and provider collaborative leads to drive forward the operational deliverables and transformation agenda, across the system in line with the agreed strategy and outcomes.
To successful applicant will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of modern, flexible community services, to meet strategic agenda’s and new ways of working. This will include the co-ordination and management of the workforce, provide strong leadership, transformation planning and the development and sustainability of collaborative partnerships across the system.
The post holder will also work closely with Service and Team Managers within their designated operational and clinical areas to ensure that they are supported and developed in order to meet the key objectives of their role and to grow service improvement capabilities of the organisation.

Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • Educated to Masters’ degree level or equivalent experience.
- • Project, Programme management/service improvement leadership experience which has been recently tested in a senior management role bringing knowledge and skills
Desirable criteria
- Qualified health or social care professional with or without current professional registration
- Formal management or project management qualification Prince 2/ MSP which has been tested in a senior management role bringing knowledge and skills

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
