Main duties of the job
Leadership and Operational management:
Professional leadership of the Physiotherapy Service and operational management of the Therapy teams in MSK, Rheumatology, Women’s Health, Paediatrics, Pain management, Acute Stroke, Neurological Rehabilitation, Emergency Department, Elderly Care wards, Medical and respiratory services, and other front door services., Orthopaedics, ICU, Surgery, Gynaecology, Paediatric wards, as well as the Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner Service, and Hydrotherapy service.

This role is responsible for the development of high quality, clinically effective patient centred services, ensuring these are delivered through the effective leadership, management and deployment of resources ensuring staff well-being and support.

With a turnover of over £375m, employing over 5,000 staff and delivering care from multiple sites, we provide acute medical and surgical services to a population of 500,000 patients in Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire and specialist services to a wider population of 1 million across Berkshire and its borders.

Leadership and Management
Essential criteria
- Experience of training and developing other qualified staff.
- Experience of producing information, monitoring performance and identifying opportunity for service improvement.
- Experience of monitoring data and information on performance and highlighting variances.
- Highly effective teamwork skills; Able to work with others collaboratively to provide solutions for best long term care.
- Service improvement examples in application
- Able to demonstrate Leadership examples in application
Desirable criteria
- Project management qualification (e.g. Prince 2)
- Experience of successfully leading change programmes
- Experience of working within a devolved management structure.
Education
Essential criteria
- Graduate qualification or equivalent with a postgraduate qualification or significant experience
- Significant post qualification experience gained in a range of areas within the profession.
Desirable criteria
- Postgraduate qualification
