Contract:  Full time, fixed term (July 2024 - September 2025)

Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

Wellington Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is looking for a fixed term Neonatologist to join the team from July 2024 to September 2025, with possibility of extension.

We are one of the biggest NICUs in NZ, with a fantastic, multidisciplinary team who value collaboration in a friendly, fun and supportive environment.   

Wellington NICU is a 40 cot unit, with close to 1000 admissions per year, providing intensive care for medical and surgical infants from central New Zealand. We run a busy neonatal retrieval service, with the majority of transports via air.

We have a strong emphasis on practicing and contributing to international best practice. Huge value has always been placed on having the very best, modern equipment and resources. It certainly makes working here very satisfying!

As a Neonatal Consultant at Wellington hospital, you would help to be part of this leadership group, bringing the team along with you.

Moū – About you

  • Vocationally registered in Paediatrics (Neonatal-Perinatal medicine) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
  • FRACP or equivalent qualification and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
  • Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
  • Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
  • Relevant experience and training
