Risk Support Liaison Worker - CAMHS

Risk Support Liaison Worker – Full-time 37.50 hours per week - Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician to join our CYPMH Team in this new role, together with our partners across Lancashire & South Cumbria as we move towards mobilising the Risk Support Model in response to transforming Children & Young Peoples Mental Health Services as part of the iTHRIVE transformation programme.

 

The Risk Support Model is a Lancashire and South Cumbria (L&SC) wide programme and we are looking to recruit our Risk Support Liaison Worker, who will be integral in fulfilling the Risk Support approach that has been developed through the CAMHS Redesign Co-production work.

 

The post holder will be part of the Lancashire & South Cumbria innovative and exciting new approach to Risk Support across the integrated care system footprint, yet with a very strong local focus on working across a range of partner organisations including local CAMHS teams, Children's Social Care, education and voluntary sector partners to establish a coordinated, effective, efficient, high quality and consistent approach to Risk Support across Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Whilst the post holder will be based within local CAMHS teams, our vision is that colocation within other partner organisations in particular Children’s Social Care Teams will form part of the working week, to help embed a culture of shared risk and collaborative working arrangements in which young people, parents, carers and professionals feel supported. The post holder must be comfortable with complexity and risk, be reflexive, resilient and have experience of sitting within times of considerable uncertainty, where anxieties amongst others can be high. As part of the Risk Support approach the post holder will also be a key member of the AMBIT Community across Lancashire & South Cumbria and should feel confident in modelling the AMBIT approach across the children’s and young people’s workforce including education, social care and health professionals, as well as delivering training to partner organisation within their footprint.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

Knowledge

  • Evidence of knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health.

  • Evidence of understanding of child development and psychosocial influences.

Experience

  • Evidence of specialist mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions with children and young people with mental health problems and their families.
  • Evidence of working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Evidence of experience of working with a wide variety of child mental health problems, across the whole age range, reflecting all levels of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems and verbal and physical abuse.
