Job overview

We are looking to recruit a receptionist to join our friendly Patient Assessment team and am who can work in a multi-tasking environment, including:

In addition, the role is an 18-month level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship. The benefit from an environment where they can learn the fundamentals of their new role while gaining a qualification.

If required there is an option to obtain the Medical Terminology module as part of the above apprenticeship.

Main duties of the job

  • Dealing with patient requests over the telephone and in person who require medical care, ask the relevant questions and sign post them to the appropriate person.
  • Register new patients completing all necessary paperwork.
  • General admin duties such as sorting old patient records ready for summarising.
  • Recalling patients for appointments either by phone, text, or email
  • Deal with general patient queries.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To provide administrative support to the preoperative assessment team in the preparation of adult patients for elective surgery.
  • To greet patients on arrival and respond with sensitivity to any queries, being mindful of data.
  • protection and patient confidentiality
  • Check pts in on arrival on the EPR System
  • To sort incoming post and ensure outgoing post is dispatched.
